On Friday, the premier play "Rain God", directed by Julius Dautartas was shown to public, along with the solemn commemoration of Juozas Miltinis drama theatre's 75th anniversary. A lot of people attended from the country's political, business and cultural elite, foreign ambassadors and guests from all over Lithuania and abroad, on Saturday the show went on. "During the day of Juozas Miltinis. Dinner with maestro Miltinis" - it is the title of the event at Aukštaitija narrow gauge railway depot, which attracted guests from abroad and fans of the maestro's talent. They visited newly rebuilt narrow gauge railway station and the largest in the world narrow gauge railway depot. Then they were invited to the narrow gauge railway smithy where they were treated with beef roasts that were made by chef Evaldas Žaliukas according to the original recipe of Juozas Miltinis. It is expected that in the near future, all these recipes will be in a separate book. Besides, a new introductory programme "Trains were my toys… (J. Miltinis)" should be prepared soon.
Fascinated by the environment, one of the best in Poland, Legnica city theatre director Jacek Glomb thought up here to build a performance. He struck a bargain with Gintaras Šileikis - the manager for cultural tourism in Aukštaitija narrow gauge railway. So we can say that the series of events "Panevėžys unites and that is it", initiated by Linas Marijus ZAIKAUSKAS, the director of Juozas Miltinis' drama theatre, are already bearing fruit - new, already international, cultural projects are coming into being.
