Opening of the New Season‘s Regular Train Services
Anykščiai Railway Station was decorated with garlands and as usual waited for the tourists. The sounds of music were filling the front yard of the station. In May 1, the new season’s regular train services Anykščiai – Rubikiai – Anykščiai and Anykščiai – Troškūnai – Anykščiai were opened.
 
Panevėžys County Governor Viktor Trofimov, the Mayor of Anykščiai Sigutis Obeliavičius, Director of Lithuanian narrow gauge railway Gintaras Kerbedis and local ethnographer Raimondas Guobis took part in the event and congratulated Lithuanian narrow gauge railway on its new season of regular train services.
 
With the music of the Wind Orchestra and the shots of the cannon siaurukas departed for its new season’s trip to Rubikiai. After the train left the station the passengers’ attention was caught by the picturesque landscapes of the Anykšta hydrographic reservation. Green slopes and hills, springtime nature enchanted and made everyone sigh: How wonderful – Lithuanian Switzerland!
 
After a short time siaurukas arrived at Rubikiai Railway Station. A huge number of passengers went to a nearby lake and café – tourists enjoyed meals and listened to a musical performance of a popular Lithuanian singer Virgilijus Valuntonis.
