Festival of School Year End
In early May morning, before the broad daylight, school pupils and children from kindergartens with their parents and teachers gathered at Panevėžys Railway Station. Here Lithuanian narrow gauge railway – SIAURUKAS was ready for the trip to the forest ground where a school year end festival was announced to take place. Since all the children who wanted to celebrate the day on the Lithuanian narrow gauge railway – siaurukas did not go in an eleven carriage train, an additional train was announced. Huge number of children on the platform of siaurukas soon got to their carriages and the train set forth to the forest. Various games and attractions were arranged for the passengers there. The master of the station cat Silvia met everyone at the green station, and while the grown-ups were preparing the meals, children played and danced together with Silvia, others went on swings. A cute Mouse came to congratulate children with the day and celebrated together. The Mouse came not alone but with a group of singing children. The little passengers of siaurukas listened to the concert, danced and played along. Like in a fairy tale cat and mouse did not fight each other but, on the contrary, became friends and romped with children. The two arranged different contests for children, teachers and parents. Two hours passed quickly. Two whistles – and siaurukas left to Panevėžys. The sparkle in the eyes of children proved that there were enough activities in the forest that day.
