Trip to the Tasting of New Potatoes
On 18 Luly, ASG invited everyone to Bulvėgala for new potatoes tasting festival. Six carriages full of tourists left Panevėžys Railway Station. After a half an hour trip passengers arrived to Bulvėgala and were met by the new potatoes expert Stephanie. Here passengers listened to the advices which were read from Major Encyclopedia of the Potato, which proved that potatoes could help to recover beauty, good help, and even a new partner. After announcement that with the ticket of the ASG passengers would get a portion of new potatoes with toppings a queue appeared at the canteen. Everyone wanted to try new potatoes… Having treated themselves to delicious meal, tourists got another good portion of music. A group of country music managed to get everyone on foot and dance. Soon two teams – women and men- were formed and the expert of new potatoes invited to the potato – digging. Contestants with their eyes covered had to find the “potatoes” and put it into the basket as fast as possible. To ensure that everyone adheres to the rules, a referee was appointed – a 95 year old granny Elena, almost same age as ASG. As faults were noticed in both teams, both sides were announced the winners and were awarded. Another contest was met very gladly. Several groups competed to find which of them knows more songs about food and eating. Evening drew on but songs did not end – the contest had to be stopped since the train was already waiting to get its passengers back to Panevėžys.
