The Rekstino Forest, situated in the 19th kilometre of the narrow gauge railway line Panevėžys - Anykščiai, belongs to NATURA 2000, the network of the EU protected nature territoties.

In 2001, a recreational forest ground with wooden furniture, platform for performances, dance floor and a bonfire place was set here. There is enough space for more than 400 people at a time. Passengers come here to celebrate various festivals, for example, birthday of the narrow gauge railway, the Mardi Gras, the Midsummer day, etc. Others come here to hold their own personal celebrations.
